Y. Tarek Farouki
Y. Tarek Farouki is a Co-Founding Partner of AFI and has over 20 years of experience operating, advising and investing in US and European businesses going through change and has served on the board of directors of 12 companies. Prior to co-founding AFI, Mr. Farouki was at Perry Capital where he co-managed the private equity strategy for the firm, with a focus on acquiring debt and equity ownership in middle-market industrial companies. From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Farouki acted as an independent consultant on various investment projects, including advising clients securing financing from the International Finance Corporation, the private investment arm of the World Bank. Mr. Farouki also worked as an associate in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he advised the law firm's clients on a variety of matters, including general corporate matters, private equity transactions, debt financing and security offerings. Mr. Farouki earned his Bachelor of Arts in History and Literature, Magna Cum Laude, from Harvard College and a Juris Doctoris, Cum Laude, from Harvard Law School.
