Daniel Horn is an Operating Advisor at AFI Partners, providing operational and financial management support to AFI Partners portfolio companies. Mr. Horn has over 22 years of experience as an auditor, investment banker, chief financial officer and entrepreneur. Mr. Horn is a co-founding investor of Unicous Marketing, Inc. a consumer promotion start-up and currently serves as a financial advisor to the company. In addition, he served as the company's Chief Financial Officer from September 2005 through August, 2007. In 2004, Mr. Horn was Vice President of Finance for the GDX Automotive Division of GenCorp, Inc. ("GenCorp"). As GenCorp's former lead relationship banker, he had assisted GenCorp in building its GDX division through global acquisitions to become the second largest provider of automotive sealing systems in the world, positioned the division for sale and successfully completed the divestiture in late 2004. From 1991 until 2003, Mr. Horn was employed by Deutsche Bank Securities ("DB") as a Director in their Investment Banking division. He was a founding member of a group established to initiate coverage of the automotive industry on behalf of predecessor firm, BT Securities ("BT"). Prior to beginning auto coverage at DB, he spent four years in BT's Leveraged Finance Group executing merger-related financing including leveraged loans, high yield bonds and related advisory work for a wide range of clients and completed over thirty leveraged finance transactions raising more than $5 billion. He also spent two years in the bank's Distressed Investments Group. Prior to joining BT, Mr. Horn worked at Price Waterhouse for four years in both the audit and tax departments. Mr. Horn earned his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from DePaul University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago. He serves on the board of directors of First Personal Financial Corp.
