Y. Tarek Farouki
Y. Tarek Farouki is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of AFI. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Norwich Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and NPAV Holdings, Inc. Prior to co-founding AFI, Mr. Farouki was at Perry Capital where he co-managed the private equity strategy for the firm focusing on middle-market industrial special. Mr. Farouki was at Perry for five years, and while there, he served on the boards of Republic Engineered Products, Inc. and LaRoche Industries, Inc. From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Farouki served as an independent consultant on various investment projects, including advising clients on financing from the International Finance Corporation, the private investment arm of the World Bank. Previously, Mr. Farouki served as an associate in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he advised the law firm's clients on a variety of matters, including general corporate matters, private equity transactions, debt financing and security offerings. Mr. Farouki earned his Bachelor of Arts in History and Literature magna cum laude from Harvard College and a Juris Doctoris cum laude from Harvard Law School.
